There are over 130 species of lacewings described in France, difficult to distinguish between them, but all of effective predators.
What are the prey of lacewing?
The larvae are formidable predators. They can absorb during their development up to 500 aphids.
they attack and to:
• Mites
• Aphids
• psyllids
• Whiteflies
• Scales
• various eggs
• caterpillars
• Drosophila larvae (grapes rotting acid)
in recent work in IFV Burgundy, Gilles Sentenac shows that annual releases of Chrysoperla lucasina, would limit the development of scales of Helicoccus bohemicus - Phenacoccus aceris, and P. aceris.
